The General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) relates to all organizations who process personal data. The Freedom of Information Act 2014 (FOI) is applicable to all public bodies. Kildare and Wicklow ETB falls under the remit of both of the above legislations and provides for access to information under the conditions of these legislations and regulations

GDPR provides individuals with the right of a person to ask for a copy of personal data held relating to them personally, a right to object to direct marketing practices, allows a person to ask for inaccuracies in their personal data to be corrected, in certain cases it allows for personal data to be erased and gives the right to seek compensation through the courts where privacy rights have been infringed.
