Kildare and Wicklow Education and Training Board (KWETB) Chief Executive, Mr Sean Ashe is pleased to announce the appointment of a New Principal forGreystones Community National School. KWETB were awarded patronage of the new school on the 10th June by the Minister of Education and Skills Ms Jan O’ Sullivan T.D. The school, opening this autumn, is much anticipated and welcomed in the Greystones area.
Mr Rory Kinane, a Tipperary native, has been appointed to the post of Principal. Mr Kinane graduated in 2005 and has worked in the Irish and UK education systems as both Teacher and Head Teacher. Mr Kinane has a passion for education and said ‘that the children who attend our school will be educated, nurtured and cared for to the highest possible standards’, he also states that ’our school will be an inclusive school, one that actively encourages each child in reaching their potential both educationally and socially within our community’.
The Chief Executive, Mr Sean Ashe stated ‘the Community National Schools embrace diversity and welcome students from all different backgrounds, faiths, languages and beliefs thus reflecting the reality of the communities we live in today’. The location for the school will initially be in Greystones Rugby Club, it is confirmed that planning permission for the temporary building on the Rugby Club grounds has been received. KWETB wishes to acknowledge the support of the Rugby Club and the community.
Mr Ashe expressed delight that a person of Rory Kinane’s calibre has been appointed as Principal of the new school. He wishes Rory and all the future students and families of Greystones CNS well for their first establishment year.
