At present a new extension is being built onto St. Conleth’s Community College in Newbridge, a Kildare and Wicklow ETB School. This extension is funded and sanctioned by the Department of Education and Skills. The design and management of the project is undertaken by a team of experts appointed by Kildare and Wicklow ETB.
Difficulties and delays with the production of mandatory Building Certifications by the building contractor was a recurring challenge on the Project. This led to an unavoidable suspension of works on site on the 8th December 2017. Kildare and Wicklow ETB and its Design Team are now pleased to confirm that the required Certification and Documentation has been received from the Contractor. On foot of this building works will recommence on site on Monday the 12th March 2018.
KWETB Acting Chief Executive Rory O’ Toole said that this is a great relief to the organisation and for the school community in St. Conleths CC. Mr O’ Toole reiterated Kildare and Wicklow ETBs commitment to provide a safe, fit for purpose, state of the art education facility for the people of Newbridge. He thanked all involved for their hard work and commitment to ensuring that this building project be delivered to the highest standards possible and for working to overcome the difficulties encountered.
It is expected that works will be complete in time for the commencement of the academic year in September 2018.
