Self-Evaluation and Monitoring

On-going and end of course evaluations allow for the monitoring of courses and identification of issues. Reviews of Internal Verification Reports, External Authentication Reports and Results Approval Panel meetings provide opportunities to adjust programme delivery and assessment.  Monitoring and analysis of assessment results across the organisation informs decision-making. National programme evaluation is conducted by SOLAS in partnership with the ETBs and has included programmes such as PLC, VTOS, Specific Skills Training and Youthreach. There are also programme-specific evaluations such as the Youthreach Quality Framework.

In 2019, KWETB published a first annual Quality Assurance Progress Report and Quality Improvement Plan for 2019, which was submitted to QQI for approval. This submission was followed by a Dialogue Meeting with QQI, where the KWETB approach and plans for Quality Assurance of Further Education and Training (FET) Programmes was discussed. These developments are the first phase of the introduction of new governance structures and processes for Quality Assurance of FET in Kildare and Wicklow.

The Progress Reports and Quality Improvement Plans (QIP), take the form of a single document, and these are published below:
