Promotion and Appeal Procedures for appointment to Assistant Principal, Special Duties and Programme Co-ordinator Posts

A revised appeal procedure for appointment to Assistant Principal, Special Duties and Programme Co-ordinator Posts in ETBs was introduced under  Circular Letter 25/2016 (which is available to download below)  following an extensive review process by management bodies and unions at national level.

CL 25/2016 comprises two parts:

Part A: Promotion procedure for appointment to Assistant Principal, Special Duties and Programme Co-ordinator posts.

Part B: Appeal procedure in respect of competitions for appointment to Assistant Principal, Special Duties and Programme Co-ordinator posts.

CL 25/2016 supersedes Appendix 1 of C.L. 42/2010 in respect of appointments to Assistant Principal and Special Duties Teacher.   In respect of appointments to Programme Co-Ordinator, this circular supersedes sections 2.2 and 3 of C.L. PPT 17/02, sections 3 and 4 of C.L. PPT 18/02 and sections 3, 4 and 5 of C.L. PPT 19/02.

Teacher appeal forms:

The Appeal Board Secretariat for the ETB sector is operated by ETBI.  The Appeal Board Secretariat has drafted a guidance note for teachers seeking to complete the new PDF teacher appeal form.

Those teachers who may be considering an appeal, should read the circular and the guidance note carefully.  Appeals will only be accepted on the new PDF teacher appeal form.  The form is available below.

Documentation (if any) supplied by the appellant teacher should ideally be scanned and supplied as attachments in the email which generates once the teacher appeal form is completed.  This email is submitted automatically to a nominated person in the ETB. In the event that a scanning facility is not available, please supply supporting hard copy information (if any) to KWETB clearly marked ‘POR appeals’.

You must supply any supporting documentation by the Appeal Date advised.
